Memory Day

Saturday September 12th 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (raindate Sept 13th.)
The Friends of the 1803 House invite you to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Memory Day event as well as commemorating the town of Emmaus as it celebrates 250 years. This favorite community event combines food, live entertainment, children’s activities and shopping for jewelry, art, antiques, crafts and more.

All-day activities include anniversary events, tours of the 1803 House, food and vendors with items for sale.

Children can experience the Life of early 19th century children.

Enter the world of American children as they lived over two-hundred years ago. Discover 19th century chores and games. Children can participate in a hands-on experience of daily chores and fun games of the period. They can try their hand at butter churning, setting the table, gathering eggs, fetching water or washing laundry by hand.

Unlike today, when most children’s toys come from stores, toys from the early 19th century were usually homemade and some required skill to play. Some common toys and games for children to enjoy include hopscotch, jump rope, marbles and the hoop-and-stick.
